Uber cuts 3000 jobs

A few weeks ago, the ride-sharing company, Uber, announced their first round of layoffs which sent shockwaves through the industry. This tech giant has been viewed as one of the most promising places to work, but as global markets take a massive hit, the company has been forced to lay off even more employees, and downsize their operations. CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi informed employees about their news of closing 45 offices across the world. If you club this layoff with the one from a few weeks ago, a combined 25% of the company's workforce has been let go. The main reason for these drastic measures is that their booked rides, their main source of revenue, have seen an 80% dip since the pandemic hit.
