Why the latest unemployment rate is not inclusive

Last Friday was an eventful day in the job market as the Bureau of Labor Statistics released their weekly update on the US labor market. The report indicated that jobs had been added to the economy and that the unemployment rate had fallen to 13.3 per cent, which may seem like good news on the surface, but the reality is that the black unemployment rate rose slightly in May, whereas there was a decline of two percentage points for white workers.
