Unemployment in Florida
The residents of Florida have been hit hard, as the pandemic has wiped out a considerable amount of jobs and shows little signs of stopping down. To make things worse, the weeks-long meltdown of the state online unemployment insurance registration system caused even more turmoil, directly affecting the personal finances of those living in the state. The unemployment rate was 14.5 per cent in May due to the economic slowdown, but federal statistics indicate a long and slow recovery.
