Pilots' union at American Airlines says that the company managers need to be replaced as hundreds of flights have been disrupted, affecting thousands of customers this year. The board of directors at the Allied Pilots Association approved the resolution this week, calling on the company to change the managers responsible for the airline's operations. The union directors say that the staff has failed to provide a reliable service, hence hurting the brand name of the airlines. The directors added that is in the best interest of the shareholders, employees and all communities they serve to change the management team that controls operations. The union is not seeking to change top management roles.

American Airlines had cut their schedules by 1% early in July amid staffing shortages. The carrier much like many other airline services had to trim its flight schedules to accommodate the lack of workers, causing flight disruptions over the summer. American Airlines has declined to comment over the union's resolution but sent a memo to pilots before Labor Day stating that pilot staffing has improved over the summer.
