We all hold multiple jobs during our lifespan, some employees are loyal enough to hold down the same job for years, but nobody can beat this man who has held down a career in the same company literally longer than anyone in the world.

Meet Walter Orthmann from Brazil, he is 100 years old and has just set the Guinness World Record for working at the same company for 84 years and 9 days. Orthmann started working at the age of 15 and he got a job at Industrias Renaux S.A working as a shipping assistant at the textile company in 1938. Walter was hired at their weaving mill now called RenauxView. He continued to learn and eventually got promoted to a sales position and then manager. His sales job took him traveling all over the world to meet clients who later on became friends. The innumerable transitions that the company has undergone during these 84 years have taught him that the only way to stay relevant in business is to stay up to date and adapt to different contexts.

Orthmann's record-breaking career was verified by Guinness World Records. He believes that his career span is perhaps due to his ability to stay in the present. "I don't do much planning, nor care much about tomorrow," he said "all I care about is that tomorrow will be another day in which I will wake up, get up, exercise and go to work; you need to get busy with the present, not the past or the future. Here and now is what counts. So let's got to work!"
