People receiving unemployment aid decreases below 20 million

A good sign of slow recovery for the US economy and job market as the weekly unemployment claims totalled 1.48 million last week, which was worse than the 1.35 million expectation set by Wall Street. The continuing claims dropped by 767,000 to 19.52 million. California was the state with the highest surge as the claims remained above 1 million for the 14th week in a row.
