308 UAW members at Ford's Michigan, Ohio facility have been informed that they will immediately be promoted to full-time employees.

Ford's Global Marketing and Labor Communications Manager Kelli Felker said that Ford will promote 79 workers at Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Flat Rock that builds the Ford Mustang and 229 workers at Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake that builds E-Series vans, medium-duty trucks, and Super Duty Chassis cabs. These changes were made in accordance with the universal labor contracts set by the autoworkers union. In 2018 UAW members and leaders had a talk about the issues to be addressed in the autoworkers' contracts, converting temporary employees to permanent staff was one of the top priorities. The recent four-year contract deal with General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis is said to have paved the path. Most of the people who work in plants, work as temps for many years bearing uncertain schedules, timings, and low pay. The permanent staff gets job security, better pay, and fixed timings.
