'Vaccine lottery' for Tyson employees

Tyson foods on Thursday announced that it is offering its US chicken plant employees a chance to win $10,000 if they've received at least one dose of the covid 19 vaccination. The vaccine lottery scheme is an attempt by the company to get more employees vaccinated as the Delta variant cases increase in the US.

Derek Burleson, spokesperson for the company said that the employees at nearly 50 plants are eligible for the prizes in the lottery. According to the company, Tyson also pays $200 to any employee who gets vaccinated and compensates workers if they are vaccinated outside normal work hours or away from a Tyson location.
