Biden's new vaccine mandate for employers

President Biden's new six-pronged plan to fight covid 19 includes new vaccine mandates and testing rules. The administration's attempt to compel private companies to require vaccinations and rigorous testing was met with rebukes from the conservatives and raised questions about the federal government's ability to implement such a mandate.

The employer mandates set out to reach at least 80 million workers in the country is the most extensive reach into private companies and employers since the pandemic began. According to the new mandate, all companies with more than 100 employees require covid 19 vaccinations or regular testing. Companies that ignore the policy can face a penalty of up to $14,000 for each violation. Additionally, companies are also required to give employees paid time to get vaccinated.
