Booster shots offered to United's employees at select airports

United Airlines is offering booster shots to their staff at select airports amidst the threat of the Omicron virus to the company's workforce. Leslie Scott, the company's spokesperson said that United has relaunched the administration of vaccines to employees at Newark Liberty International Airport, George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport, Chicago O'Hare International Airport, and Won Pat International Airport in Guam.

Scott says that this is the company's way of making sure that the booster doses are easily accessible to their employees. She also added that the company has yet included the booster shots in the definition of "fully vaccinated". This is unlike many other companies like Apple that have made it mandatory for workers to get booster shots.

United Airlines' vaccine mandate is known to be the strictest among US carriers where unvaccinated employees face termination unless they have religious or medical exemptions. This policy of the company was even contested in court, which ultimately sided with the company.
