The veterans' affairs agency faces questions from a state lawmaker after it posted job ads for nurses jobs that highlighted the lack of mandated covid-19 vaccination as a 'benefit'. The ad was posted on a state jobs website and it mentioned no mandated vaccination as one of the great benefits of the job for nurses in state-run veteran homes.

State Senator Carol Blood inquired about the ad. She responded that the state currently faces a nursing shortage but it isn't the right strategy to advertise the lack of vaccination as a benefit. She also commented that the ad sends the wrong message to the families with veterans.
