The Great Resignation
Gen Z and Millenials are said to be driving what is termed as "The Great Resignation". The younger generation is allegedly more dissatisfied with their work. Workers quitting their jobs reached a record 3.9 million by July. A global study conducted of 5,500 workers concluded that this mass resignation is spear-headed by the Gen Z and Millenial population who have spent the least time in the workforce. According to the study, 59% were dissatisfied with their jobs, 56% with their work-life balance, and 62% felt restricted and pressurized to work during "office hours" even though they reportedly worked best
at their convenience, outside normal work timings.
Vacancies in companies rise up to 9 million throughout the country as employers struggle to offer satisfactory packages. Another study found that 72% of companies planning on
raising their base salary packages.
