The new roles include two deputy managing editors a number of openings for assignment editors, breaking news editors, multiplatform editors and two editors to uphold newsroom standards. Buzbee in an interview said that these new roles would also increase the number of journalists of color in editing roles. "It will improve the diversity of our staff and provide career paths across the newsroom for a more diverse group of people from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets", she added.
