Marty Walsh pays tribute to workers' sacrifices on Labor Day

Marty Walsh, US Labor Secretary honored workers for their sacrifices and hard work with an ongoing pandemic. In a statement on Labor Day, Walsh said that while there is great progress celebrating the second pandemic-hit Labor Day, there are also continued losses on the line.

He also went on to talk about the sacrifices made by essential workers, their families and what it means to honor them and their monumental efforts and support to the country. Walsh acknowledged that essential and frontline workers are the 'lowest paid and vulnerable' and how thanking them is not enough. "To properly honor them, we need to recommit our efforts towards building an economy and labor market that are both just and equitable", he added.
