Walgreens raises hourly wage to $15
Walgreens has raised its hourly wage for employees to $15 starting in October, becoming the next major company to boost wages in a competitive market. 19,000 of Walgreen's employees already make $15 per hour and will not see any change in wages. The raise will be applicable for the remaining half of the employees. The company announced that the pay raise will apply to both full-time and part-time employees.
The pay raise comes amidst a worker shortage in many major industries as more employees seek better wages and work-life balance. The Great Resignation, as the phenomenon is known has left millions of job openings left unfilled and hiring managers struggling to find candidates.
