US economy contracts by 33%

The US economy has contracted by a whopping 33 per cent annual rate in the April-June quarter, which has been the worst drop ever. This dismal performance is attributed to the viral outbreak which leads to the shutting down of businesses and tens of millions of layoffs with unemployment rising to 14.7 per cent.
