Walmart to hire 20,000 employees to meet the holiday rush

Walmart has announced that it plans to hire 20,000 employees keeping in mind the upcoming holiday season and the labor shortage in the country. The retail chain which is the largest employer in the country said that the offers will include both part-time and full-time jobs which will be permanent posting. These employees are to be working in the supply chain. Job openings range from order fillers to freight handlers. Walmart has more than 250 centers within the country. The average wage for a supple chain associate is $20.37 per hour, special hiring events are to be held on September 8th and 9th.

Previously Walmart offered special bonuses to their warehouse workers and 100% coverage of college tuition and textbook costs. Similar attempts are being made by retailers throughout the country to either attract new labor or sustain the existing workforce during the labor shortage crisis.
