A "normal" Labor Day

A "normal" Labor Day

Labor Day for many marks the end of summer as everybody goes back into their places of work post vacations. For the second year in a row, Labor Day was celebrated during the pandemic, which means that traditional methods of celebrations had to be put behind. This time period is the busiest for service sectors due to the holiday shopping and entertainment season, which was not the case amidst the Delta variant. The irony lies in the fact that the laborers for whom the holiday was created face the most uncertainty. This may be in relation to their jobs, healthcare facilities, education of their children as the confusion of conducting in-person classes continue, and much more. Although the vaccination campaigns started with zest and the aim to achieve herd immunity, it quickly dies down owing to misinformation.
