Ford to build new factories, 11,000 new jobs will be added

Ford and a partner company plan to build three major electric vehicle battery factories and an auto assembly plant by 2025 which would create an estimated 10,800 jobs. This would also shift the automaker's future in manufacturing towards the South. The factories are set to be built in Kentucky and Tennessee and will make batteries for the next generation of Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles that are to be produced in North America. This is the largest investment made by the 118-year-old company and it is also one of the largest factory outlays in the world.

The new factories will offer a vast supply of jobs with solid wages. Most new jobs are set to be full-time and a few openings for temporary workers to fill in for workers on leave or absent workers. Together with its battery partner company SK Innovation from South Korea, the company says that it will be spending $5.6 billion in rural Stanton, Tennessee where it is building a factory to produce the F series pickups. A joint venture called BlueOvalSK will build a factory site in Memphis and Kentucky.
